Nirvana for men? Chicken wings & urinals with flatscreen TVs

November 25th, 2009, 7:25 am · 13 Comments · posted by Nancy Luna, Staff Writer

I can’t help but think that Buffalo Wild Wings must be some sort of nirvana sports bar for men.

What other restaurant chain offers messy chicken wings and urinals with flatscreen TVs so you don’t miss any moment of the day’s biggest sports games?

Tell us: What do you think about these urinals with overhead TVs? A bit too much or a great idea?

I asked my husband to take this photo during our visit to Orange County's first Buffalo Wild Wings, which opened last month in Buena Park. There's also another BWW in Lake Forest. The more than 40 TV screens and yummy wings enticed my husband. However, the self-proclaimed beer snob said BWW's taps -- which poured mainstream labels such as Dos Equis, Sierra Nevada and Guinness -- did not impress him.

  • The TVs in the bathroom are a great idea (for guys). This restaurant definitely caters to men. The wings are greats, plus they have 50 cent wing nights. Definitely worth it!

    Urinals with TVs = decadence.

Doesn’t the ESPNZone have this too?? I know the women’s room does!

    I love, love, love BWW!

You know, the funny thing is my husband doesn’t like buffalo wings, or sports, or beer, so I’m still trying to drag him here. I had to sneak over to the Lake Forest one during lunch to get my wing fix.

How about TV’s in the women’s stalls that stream Overstock.com?

BWW is way to noisy for me, I like peace and quiet when I eat. No I’m not old, I just liked my dinners this way since I was a kid.

I finally went to the one in Lake Forest a couple of weeks ago and everyone I went with were thoroughly unimpressed. For me, perhaps it had been built up so much that it couldn’t live upto expectations, but the wings were mediocre and everyone else who didn’t order wings said their food was nothing special. Sure, it’s got a lot of TVs and Buzztime Trivia (which I love to play), but beyond that, I fail to see what all the commotion is about.

I love wings, and hate all sports, so I guess this would be better if it had porn on….lol

How does this place compare with Wingnuts? I think the wings there are great, but a little pricey. Anybody?

  • Mike says:

Would be tough to beat Wingnuts. It’s wings and fries are so good, probably not as many tvs though. Its expensive but a good indulgence every now and then. I will give bww a chance one of these days.

  • Fried says:

Love BWW, wings “extra crispy”. The only problem I’ve encountered is that it doesn’t matter which one I go to, the service is always TERRIBLE and their management is lacking.

Contacted corporate several times. They don’t seem to care. Oh well…

  • PithyOpiner says:

Chicken wings are terrible for you. Nothing but fat and skin breaded and sauced to hide all that bad stuff. Stay away from it. And, no guy wants to watch TV while unrinating!! He’s liable to pee all over his shoes and not know it til the commercial comes on.

TV on the toilet? What for? People just go to the toilet for 5 minutes not more. That’s really crazy idea.
