I’m heading south to Florida for the Thanksgiving break.
I’ll be visiting Orlando with my family to spend a whirlwind two days trying to see four Walt Disney World theme parks. I’m especially excited to visit Epcot, a treasure trove of international eats.
After Orlando, I’ll also be in St. Petersburg, Fl. for a few days. If you have any dining recommendations, please comment here or email me.
While I’m gone, I’ll still be posting but not as frequently after Sunday. So don’t leave me! While in Orlando I plan to get the inside scoop on Seasons 52, a “low-cal” fancy dining chain coming to South Coast Plaza next year.
Paul Hodgins (Booze on a Budget blogger) will continue to offer his beer and wine tips next week. In fact, I think he’s headed to Trader Joe’s this weekend to review the free wine tasting in Costa Mesa.
Tweets and eats: You can catch my Florida food exploits by following me on Twitter and Facebook.
Please behave while I’m gone: Lately, I’ve noticed the comments have gotten a bit out of control. Please be kind to your fellow humans, and stay on topic. As a reminder, here are the Register’s rules for posting comments.
Thanks, Nancy

Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels! (oh and take plenty of hand sanitizer for the plane ride!)
Don’t forget the Zicam! At the first sign of anything - funny throat, stuffy nose - start taking it every 4 hours.
It has kept our entire family from getting sick - we start and then the Zicam keeps it from grabbing hold!
Enjoy!
You’re absolutely right. Short of sounding like a commercial for this stuff, it’s totally a prevent-all.
We miss you already! When you get back check out the reviews of the new French Fry truck premiering in LA tonight. Been reading some interesting stuff elsewhere. Have a great trip.
Have fun Nancy, your right everyone seems so angry, maybe its the economy.
Perfect.
See if you can mother everyone down there like you do here.
MVMummy, I’ll miss you the most….
signed, FFMummy.
Carl’s Jr. are called Hardy’s back there. Also you can buy a house in Orlando or Tampa for the price of a large pizza!
Too bad you’re not headed to the Keys … I could give you some GREAT recommendations
Have a wonderful time!
Have a safe trip Nanci!

Have a wonderful vacation and a Happy Thanksgiving and eat and eat and eat!
I will miss FFM. Only reason why I have OCR bookmarked
Ahh, thanks Cowboy..I will have a few stories ….posting while I’m gone..no worries..
Have fun Nancy! Hope you enjoy Seasons 52! Another place to check out there if you haven’t already is Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney. Very good food and they are able to handle an amazing volume of people. Good for breakfast too.
I saw the location in Vegas, at Planet Hollywood. Will have to check it out next time.
Yes-Earl of Sandwich makes a pretty good sandwich and you don’t have to wait very long-their salads were nice too.
If you have a chance, go to the Goodings super market just off Lake Buena Vista Blvd., not far from Disney Marketplace. The baked goods and desserts are surprisingly good, especially in an area that values quantity above quality.
Go check out http://www.mousesavers.com they have all the tips on saving money at Disneyworld there
