Update: T.G.I. Friday’s free food promotion filled up

11/18 Update: The new T.G.I. Friday’s in Brea is no longer taking reservations for its free food promotion, said Cathy Gruschka, the manager in charge of the grand opening.

The brand new restaurant, which will hold its official grand opening on Tuesday, was offering free menu items to the public Friday and Saturday. Reservations filled up quickly, Gruschka said. The private preview is part of mock service training for the staff, so workers will be ready for the official opening, said Steen Sellers, the general manager of O.C.’s newest Friday’s.
Address: The new Fridays is at 935 E. Birch St. in the Brea Marketplace, across the street from the Brea Mall.
Hours: 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sundays (for football fans).

I went to this T.G.I. Friday’s for my birthday last December, so how has it been under construction for 18 months? I think you probably mean for 8 months because they tore the old building down last spring.
I was thinking the same thing! But, then again, the Register is not always the most accurate in its reporting.
I’m actually going to be right over in that area so I’m all signed up with my reservation!

I called around 3:30 after I saw the posting on here. They had several times available so I got one late Sat afternoon. A buddy was gonna go with me but he may not be able to make it.

Cash4acres…And where do dine my man? Since you said to bring our masks & watch for lice I assume you have dined in such places. List the places you dine at so I can be sure to avoid them. Do you also clip discount coupons too?
Ummmm- what’s wrong with coupons? They are there to save money. Are you suggesting people who clip and use coupons are lice breeding, disease infested individuals?

I just wanted to say how sad the “comments” section of Nancy’s articles haw become. Nancy puts out some cool stuff, like fast food deals and how TGIFridays is offering free food, and 75% of the comments are negative and useless.

Yeah, what OCMom said. If they bother youse, stop readin’ ‘em. You don’t see Ms Luna in the womens restroom at the OC Register crying her eyes out.
Josh, I’m on your side. The negativity is about the same but the language is on that slippery slope, And it seems the majority doesn’t like to be questioned.
I’m not a fan of TGIF’s and I’m in So County, so I won’t be going; but to those of you that are - Happy Eating!
TGIF’s is ok food-wise but time after time I have gone back hoping the service has improved at the local restaurant? EVERY single time it seems like my party and I are left sitting for EVER waiting between drinks and placing order; placing order and salad/aps being placed in front of us; done eating and waiting for check.
I actually sent my boss a text the last time I went (in March or so) appologizing because my co workers and I were going to be at least 15 mins late due to the magical disappearance of the wait staff. It wasn’t just one person it was like suddenly the place was all customers, no wait staff!
You can have your free food. It doesn’t sound like they are making it very easy either.
OCsmom~ I use coupons for shopping at the food markets. My comment was in jest. It was cash4acres that said the lice & bottom feeders thingpv I worked nights in kitchens when I going to school. You would eat at home more often if you saw what goes on in those kitchens. I dine out on special occasions. I’m sure your a fine “Single Mom”. Hey I was just saying…..
Cash, since I’ve never heard of T.G.I. Fridays having lice before, it would seem you are the common denominator and the restaurant gets it from you.
Brea’s T.G.I. Fridays isn’t “O.C.’s newest” - it’s been around for a long time. Though they are in a new building now.
It took me about 25 minutes to get thru, when my sister called after 430 it took her 3 different times and she got thru… We’ll be eating there today…
