11/11 Exclusive: McDonald’s McRib is back!
—————————————————-
Don’t plan your inaugural visit to Orange County’s first Pink’s Hot Dogs stand just yet.
The Knott’s Berry Farm location opened during Halloween festivities at the Buena Park theme park, and then it closed.
“They closed the temporary location in order to renovate the space into a Pink’s,” a representative told me via email
It is expected to open in mid-January.
Talk about a tease!
(Thanks to Eric for the tip on this)

Thats funny Pinks couldnt have renovated BEFORE they actually opened
whew…. i thought it was a bust!!
Maybe they were just testing the waters and are seeing initial results to see whether to keep the location at Knott’s or move somewhere else?
Ummm Yeah! You think an icon like Pinks would want to be associated with a bust. Especially as pretentious as people are around here!
If they are smart, they will have an open order area in the front of Knotts with tables and umbrellas like Pinks in Hollywood and a opening for orders and tables inside Knott’s Park for there patrons
Get Pink’s Hot Dogs from areas, all so Pinks is know for having old fashion real sugar soda bottle drinks it would be nice to have that too along with the found drinks.
For all who remember and like, and or if you never really tried a “Real Soda” check out this place in los angeles area

Huell Howser from KCET who did a show on Pinks Hot Dogs did a show on this place that “Real” Glass Bottle Sodas from all over the world. If you like or want to try a real sugar coke, a real authentic recipe Dr Pepper (Yes the one in the Stores is not the real Formula) they have it and they do mail order too.
A cold bottle of soda with a hot dog or hamburger is so much better
and yes he / they have glass bottles of diet drinks too
BBB
there’s a deli in Old Towne Orange north of the traffic circle that sells like 80-100 different kinds of old sodas also. most are even cold. I’ve seen the Huell episode on the place you’re describing.
I don’t know of a deli North of Old Towne, maybe you are thinking Watson’s? If so they don’t really have much. I usually end up getting my “sugar” sodas from BevMo (pretty good selection about 40 different) or Hi-Time Wine Cellar (probably about 50).
had to look it up:
Old Towne Grinder, 177 Glassell, Orange, CA
caddy corner to The Filling Station (same side of the street)
Forgot about the Grinder. Tried it once and wasn’t thrilled with the taste of their turkey.
That soda place sucks. It’s almost all the way out in Pasadena in a very crappy part of town. I stopped by there one time and was incredibly disappointed. It’s an old grocery store that’s 75% empty with only 1 row of soda. Whatever you do, don’t buy Moxie…it’s awful.
It’s obvious they opened prematurely to take advantage of the increased traffic during Knotts Scary Farm.
Let em get their act together and they will be a hit, unless the location isn’t good.
Pinks is still first rate, even if its a transported version to OC.
I was up there last night at 7pm and it was packed. Huell Howser of KCET/PBS was there & was very friendly with the crowd. Today it’s Jason Alexander of Seinfeld will be there & Thursday Bill Cosby. The chili dogs were outstanding and you can’t beat the price of 70 cents. The line moved quickly. Had a great time.
You must be talking about the Original Pinks.
clearly. I heard about the Bill Cosby thing.. plus the Knott’s one is closed and I don’t think too many celebs would make the drive anyway unless paid.
there’s an anniversary celebration going on in L.A. of some sort.
I used to live close by to the original Pink’s (Melrose and La Brea in Los Angeles). They have wonderful hot dogs. Looking forward to it opening again here in The OC, where I now call home..
Noooooooooo!!! I haven’t even made it to the OC location to give it a try!! Something tell’s me that “mid-January” date will turn into a “mid-2010″ date …. if any “date” at all. :*(
let’s hope they finish that renovatin’ soon!!
The question is will they have the full menu like the original or will it be the extremely limited menu like they had during the soft open in Oct.
Who needs Pink’s they have Portillo’s a block away. The Beef sandwiches and the hot dogs there are great. The Chocolate Cake Shake kills it all!!!
Right there on La Palma in front of Walmart
why don’t they have Pink kiosks? Just like NYC.
where are you suggesting? at Knotts? or somewhere else?
I’d rather go to Jerry’s Wood Fired Hot Dogs here in OC.
