The first one is the Farrell’s Zoo dessert (five different ice creams, three sherbets, five toppings, whipped cream, cherries, nuts and bananas) being delivered on a stretcher. Cost: $49.99

Welcome back Farrell’s. I am sure yu will be a hit here in South OC. I nailed the new price of a ZOO! Anyone know the price of a Pig Troff?
$50 will buy a lot of groceries. I don’t see this being practical even in South OC. The times, they are a changing. Does anyone remember what this cost in the 1970’s?
I think $50 would buy a lot of things other than a bowl of ice cream. Groceries, gas, electric bill, shoes, school clothes, etc. I say good luck to Farrell’s but I predict after an initial mad rush of nostalgia induced crowds they will either have to change their prices or they go out of business.
I don’t remember the price in the 70’s, but I do remember we could not afford it. We would usually get something smaller and just share it with our kids. but now, $50 seems like a lot. However, we will most likely go and take our grandkids and splurge on it for them. Maybe that’s how it is. When you can’t afford to give your kids something, by the time you have grandkids, you can afford to give them stuff you couldn’t give your kids. And everyone has fun!
