O.C. brewery and restaurant earn medals

Two Orange County-based companies claimed medals in California-based competitions:

  • Huntington Beach Beer Company earned 2 silver medals at the 2009 Los Angeles County Fair Commercial Beer Competition. It was recognized in the Golden or Blonde Ale category and in the Irish-Style Red Ale category for its “Huntington Beach Blonde and its “Uncle Wilford’s Irish Ale,” respectively.
  • TAPS Fish House and Brewery has been awarded 5 medals in 2 California-based competitions. From the California State Fair, TAPS earned a gold medal on TAPS’ Cream Ale and a bronze on the Irish Red. From the Los Angeles International Beer Fest, TAPS earned a gold for the Cream Ale, silver for the Hefeweizen and bronze for the Belgian White.
