Another new frozen yogurt shop is coming to Mission Viejo.
Luis Garcia is slated to open FROZ! Yogurt later this summer at 24001 Via Fabricante. Garcia’s new shop will serve 22 flavors and include a lounge area with free Wi-Fi, HDTVs and local entertainment.
Garcia plans to offer prepackaged foods, pastries, drinks, coffees, teas and smoothies.

Do we really need another? I think the fad must be just about over. The only place that ever has a line is good old reliable Golden Spoon. We have 5 yogurt stores in RSM alone. At least four are build your own.
The Yogurt fad may be ending soon, but I really hope it doesn’t leave us with only Golden Spoon once more. Its over priced and not to mention GROSS. I love the self serve pay-by-ounce places that have sprung up. This new place sounds cool if it has wifi, but it sounds like it may be more expensive…
I’m a long time Cherry On Top fan, last night I decided to try Fro-Yo (Bristol/Paularino, Costa Mesa) the dirty counter top, the counter girl sitting and texting, the lack of preferred toppings and the icy yogurt will keep me faithful to C.O.T. (Fairview/Baker Costa Mesa).
I give Fro-Yo six months ’til it fails.
I agree that the foyo fad has pretty much run its course, but this one seems to be going to offer more than just frozen yogurt. Being a litle “unique” might help it survive. But being on Via Fabricante they might not get the week-end business that they will need. They are going to be smack dab in the middle of a commercial area that keeps mainly 8am - 5pm M-F hours.
I’ll give them a try when they open.
My Spidey sense is tingling, telling me there is going to be yet another retail vacancy. How much overpriced yogurt do we really need?
Not too many good spots left that don’t already have several Froyo shops already! The new Pinkberry near Cal State Fullerton is pretty empty, but a new Tutti Frutti is coming down the street! In Tustin, a new Le Yogurt is coming down the street from a Yogurtland! But the pace of store openings has slowed, and that is propably a good thing. We’ve hit about 200 froyo shops in OC, up from just 25 a few years ago, putting it in roughly neck in neck with Ice Cream shops. You have to wonder how many shops the market can support! Ice Cream has not been doing well, probably for this reason. Look at how many brands like Ben& Jerry that have left the area.
