Domino’s nabs top online sales, plus $10 gift card giveaway

Rapid deliveries. Loved pizzas. Now — newly crowned leader of online ordering.
Domino’s Pizza, which is locked in a never-ending war with big rivals Pizza Hut and Papa John’s, will announce later today that it is the leader of online pizza ordering, according to data released by market research firm NPD Group’s CREST.
Over two years, Domino’s market share of online pizza orders jumped from 11 percent to 28 percent, beating all rivals and making it the No. 1 chain for online pizza sales, NPD said.

Steve Weiss, a marketing consultant for Domino’s, said the chain’s rapid rise to the top is tied to the chain’s “seamless,” easy-to-use site. One of the most innovative features is a Web tool that allows customers to see their pizza being built.
Maven note: I’ve used this feature, and it is very cool. Domino’s actually tells you when the pizza is being baked, boxed and handed over to the driver.

Probably a good idea.
Domino’s is #1 in online ordering because the have mostly all of their locations accepting online orders. Papa john’s and Pizza Hut do not. Try to order online from them and you will likely get a mssg- Not accepting online orders at this time.

anjolie: The only reason I get the “Not accepting online orders at this time” message is when the store is closed (or near enough to closing time). Perhaps that was reason you get it.
Same… anjolie, you’ll get that message when the store is closed (I tried to place a order this morning at 10:55am).
