Chicken Soft Tacos
Del Taco is expanding on the industry’s popular Taco Tuesday concept by launching a similar deal every Thursday for its chicken soft tacos.
Starting today, the Lake Forest-based chain will offer three chicken soft tacos for $2.09 on Thursday nights. (Note: Three 99-cent chicken tacos would normally cost $2.97 at Del Taco.)
The deal is good from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. every Thursday. The new taco night is a permanent menu offering — not some temporary recession-busting special, Del Taco said.
As a result, Del Taco will offer two nights each week where you can fill up with cheap tacos.

Classic Taco now available on Taco Tuesday
On Taco Tuesday, Del Taco offers three regular tacos for $1.09 from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. You can also get some beefier tacos that night, by buying three Classic Tacos for $2.09 on Taco Tuesday. (More Taco Tuesday deals)
More Del Taco menu news: In addition, Del Taco also launched this week a new ” two-fer” promotion: two Del Classic Chicken Burritos for only $5. The chain also debuted Jalapeno Rings this week for $1.99. (Stay tuned for a special iReview on the spicy new appetizer.)

Yes!!! I love their chicken soft tacos, but I had stayed away due to the price jump(.79 to 1.09 I think) . This is a great deal DT, and I for one will be there today!
How many tacos do you eat / buy that .30 kept you away from eating something you enjoy?
If you are talking to me Nick..Two is good for me..But, I swear, I thought the DT chicken tacos were $2 plus….But, DT rep tells me they’ve always been this price…Anyone else recall? It’s possible I was confusing the DT chicken tacos with El Pollo Loco!
I don’t buy their chicken tacos so no, I don’t remember. But no, I wasn’t talking to you. I was talking to steppin out. He/she said that they love the tacos but stayed away due to the price increase of .30 cents. I was curious how many tacos one has to buy that .30 cents is worth avoiding something they claim to love.
By the way Nancy, how was SF? DId you enjoy your ridiculously forced vacation?
Steppin’ I’m with you. I love these tacos, and for some reason, I always thought they were more expensive than 99 cents each, which is still a pretty good deal..Anyway, I’m headed there after 3 pm with my daughter. She loves the chicken tacos too.
Keep up the great work with your Taco Tuesday and now Taco Thursdays DT! I wonder if/when TB will offer such discount days?
Their chicken soft tacos are some of the best for the price.
They had the jalapeno rings about a year ago, they were decent.
had their jalapeno rings last night, they where ok. the sauce it came with had no flavor at all whatsoever!! not worth the price.
NIck it’s the fact that businesses are raising prices yet keeping the same portions!! I love a lot of FF places as well as restaurants, but price does make a difference in what I buy. A thirty cent increase for the same amount of product is an issue, and those cents add up!! I did the same thing with the Mickey D’s double cheese to McDouble situation.
Thanks for the reply. I don’t get it though. I understand it works for you, but I just don’t get it. I mean, are they supposed to give you the food for free. Their costs go up. And that is ridiculously cheap. You could eat a meal for $4.50 (three tacos and a drink). You couldn’t make that meal for cheaper than that.
I tried the Chicken Soft Tacos for the first time in Jan. They were really good. I will be heading over to DT for this deal on Thursdays
Those jalapeno rings have been available, at least on a limited basis, for a number of months at various DT’s. DT on Chapman in Orange had them.
I’ve tried them again and I like the little buggers. The special sauce isn’t so special.
Yes, the Th taco special is a good deal. I like the Tu one as well and had classic tacos this past Tu.
Eating fool… try ordering them with nacho cheese… delish!
Wait what time zone is it? the same as tuesday? 3-11?
yup, Thursday 3 - 11…just put some j-rings in my chicken soft taco…nice!
Tacos del carbon are the only way to ge at DT.
Nancy - Forgive me if I asked you this before and my question is not directly related to your story, but does involve Mexican food. Do you know why Baja Fresh eliminated their tortilla soup from their menu? It was good and perfect comfort food. The employees were unable to give me an answer. Thanks, I miss it ;-{
And I think you wrote an article some time ago which rated tortilla soups across OC? Maybe I am just dreaming because I have such a hankering for the soup right now.
Oh gosh. Has it been that long since I’ve ordered a chicken tortilla soup at Baja? I always thought it was there on the menu.
Here’s the Best Tortilla Soup post I did in December…

Went to del taco on magnolia and atlanta in HB. The taco deal was $1.29, but the tacos were decently filled though, they tend to god skimpy on taco night.
The tacos are $2.29 in my area
Nancy, the BIG FAT chicken tacos are about $1.99 each, the regular ones are 99 cents.
Thanks Mimi.
Nick, boy you are the talk of the blog today! Thanks for asking about San Francisco. We had a great time, and it was lovely to relax in such a great city. I have some good, and not-so-good eating tales to share soon. Thanks for keeping the dialogue going.
Nancy
No problem Nancy. I don’t know why I seem to ruffle so many feathers. I really don’t try and I really don’t mean to offend people. This is just me. I’m glad to hear you had a nice trip, it’s always a nice time when I go up there too. I look forward to hearing the eating tales…
