What’s your fave hole-in-the-wall? That’s the question, the boys over at the Food Frenzy blog are asking.
I like Taco Adobe in Orange. It’s hidden near the train depot in Orange, and I’m always worried that no one can find them, because they are so off the beaten path. They have great chips, fresh salsa, enchiladas and shrimp burritos.
So, go to the Frenzy blog and list your fave.
I love Taco Adobe! I went there the other night.
my favorite place is thai pepper in huntington beach. they have the best ribs and i love the chicken pad thai! the homemade house salad dressing they serve is awesome…it’s sweet and creamy-once you try it you will just want more!
I dream of the carnitas, beans, chips and salsa at Little Onion in Santa Ana. Mmm, lard. None of that healthy crap for me, thanks.
Can’t really say it’s a hole in the wall, but it is in a strip mall. Conca d’Oro in Orange on Tustin Ave. Best pizza around. The crust is amazing.
El Taco… best red quesadillas in the world.
El Taco in Orange on Tustin near Chapman
Boy that’s a tough one since OC has some great hole in the walls.
Pasty Kitchen in Los Alamitos. Meat and potatoes at a very reasonable price.
And for Mexican food, El Tapatio in Santa Ana. It’s off of Standard just south of Edinger. Again, good food at a reasonable price. Try the Thursday special, a marinated chicken breast. Wish my pollo tasted that good.
Carnitas Los Reyes…………a real hole in the wall!
El Toro Bravo. In Costa Mesa, off 19th & Placentia,…….Carnitas Tacos….Yum!!!
Taco Adobe for the win!
Pollo Chipotle is THE entree but if you ask they’ll also toss in some camarones as well. Use the leftover sauce to mix with the rice and scoop up with corn tortillas. This is heaven.
I think I’ll call the wife unit and make some dinner plans.
I wouldn’t call it a hole in the wall but my family loves Athens West in HB for Greek food. It just destroys that crap from Daphnes and the other quick Greek places.
Bacilicos in Huntington Beach off Magnolia/Garfield.
thai wave on main street in downtown hb is always good. their drunken noodles are nice and spicy and the thai stick app. is great. my boyfriend tries different things each ttime and is rarely dissappointed.
Mos Burger is my favorite hole in the wall.
I grew up with Mos Burger! So delicious! Plenty’s USED to be my favorite hole in the wall, then someone else bought it and it became even better. Shortly after that, it closed down and is now a Kabob place. Pena’s is also good.
Naan Ka Bob on Ist street in Tustin. Bad service but cheap and tasty persian.
The ‘Pit BBQ’ in Rancho Cucamonga…@ Baseline & Carnelian.
Conca d Oro in Tustin was always my favorite for Italian since the 70’s
Taste of Siam in Santa Ana and China Panda in Villa Park.
Sal’s Little Bit ‘O Italy in Anaheim has the best stuffed pizza in the region!!!
