Hello Kitty watches stuffed in McDonald’s Happy Meals

McDonald’s customers purchasing a Happy Meal will receive one of eight Hello Kitty and Sanrio friends fashion watches now until Feb. 26.
Some of the Sanrio characters on the watches are Hello Kitty, Chococat, My Melody and Little Twin Stars.
McDonald’s and Sanrio, Inc. have teamed up to create a new Happy Meal program. In addition to giving out the watches, McDonald’s will feature Hello Kitty on HappyMeal.com. Visitors to HappyMeal.com will be able to download Hello Kitty wallpaper, screen savers, icons and coloring sheets. Visitors will also be able to interact with Hello Kitty in McDonald’s virtual world, McWorld.
Maven’s take: It’s been a long time since McDonald’s has had a cool Happy Meal toy, don’t you think? I bet the Hello Kitty fans will be hopping around from restaurant-to-restaurant, trying to fetch all eight watches. (See purple one below)

I wonder what prison in China built these watches if they are so cheap as to be free with a hamburger.
Did these watches fall off the wrists of the workers? How do they get in there…?
My 6 year old is so excited! Finally a “toy” that’s cute, it works, and she’s getting ready for school better because she knows what time it is! (Why she can tell time on the Hello Kitty watch and not the cable box is beyond me!) Thanks for the info on the website. Never done the happymeal.com before, but we will now! I personally would be worried if the toy watch came from China…the amount of items containing lead is astounding and worrisome. If I was assured it wasn’t from China nor contained lead I’d be “happy” to purchase the happy meal! By the way…what’s the “boy” watch going to look like????

I just captured 6 of the 8 at a local McDonald’s in Massachusetts. The cashier was happy to assist in going through their current inventory to get me one of each to purchase sans the meal. She got a kick out of telling the other employees that they were for me (50 year old fan of Hello Kitty for 30 years now!) They are child size and not made for durability but they will add nicely to my collection.

Anyone know how to change the time? They threw away the instructions. Seems simple enough- two buttons. But I cannot get it to change. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

ok, so my mom called me to tell me about the watches…so i sent out my man to snagg me a happy meal…i got the choco cat watch
probably the one i wanted second to least! and it doesnt even fit my wrist! i am by no means “supersized” either…

I love the watches, im a 16 year old highschool student and i wear mine everyday.
Everyone gets a HUGE kick out of them and ive had at least 10 people come up to me and say they went to mcdonalds just to get the watch.
Can somebody say saleslady?

I’m very stoked on my same age love. Oh and CHRIS, looks to me like your comments are typical for you. I love Sanrio always have. Sadly I didn’t make the mad rush for the MAC goodies. However I did have my personal shopper put a few thing aside for me. Got to LOVE Nordies!!
