Looks like Jack in the Box is testing sirloin sliders in parts of San Diego.
Fast Food Maven reader Helen Mayfield spotted the mini burgers at her local San Diego Jack in the Box. Here’s what she had to say about the surprise menu item:
“An order comes with 3 sliders that are comprised of a mini bun, ketchup, grilled onions, cheese and I think mustard. I had them today and they are really really good. I also just saw a commercial for them on TV (with midgets and mini cows!).”
Jack in the Box (Nasdaq:JACK) spokeswoman Kathleen Anthony confirmed the slider offering. “We are testing mini sirloin burgers in the San Diego area,” she says. “I have to admit I haven’t had one yet, but they look really good.”
I have to agree. Mayfield’s description makes them sound yummy. I also like the idea of a fast-food restaurant serving a trio of mini burgers, a la White Castle.
Anthony declined to say if the sliders will be offered outside the San Diego area.
Since the chain funded a commercial for the mini sirloin burgers, I’m betting these pint-size patties might soon land in more restaurants. Otherwise, why waste the advertising dollars?
Besides, it would be great if Jack in the Box beat McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) to the punch when it comes to delivering mini-burgers at a national level. McDonald’s is testing “Little Tasters” in the U.K., according to Restaurant Reality Check.

They look great! When do we get them in OC?
Nancy you have really working you buns off…good job!
PS No bun intended
ok those look yummy! I can’t wait til they get here.
They are a good idea, easier to eat (especially behind the wheel) and compared to White Castle look much more like a real burger.
I’d definately order them if they made them available here.
The McFatties don’t need more buns full of bleached flour. I’m investing in Lane & Bryant or another Big & Tall company in 2009.
What a great idea! We love sliders. In fact, making them for Superbowl Sunday.
Gotta love those commercials, friggin hilarious
using dwarfs in the ads? Man, JIB must not be worried about offending people!
what about the dwarf cows, call peta
Ha ha DB, what a nice thing to say! You must be gorgeous and ever so thin!
I love perfect people, and those are the kind of people that eat at JB’s! Can’t wait for the sliders! See ya there.
I would buy a dozen right now if they were sold in OC!
best commercial ever!!!!!
the sliders are ok, the patties could be bigger…..
YUM! Very good idea. Put me down for an order.
When will the Bonus Jack return???
Mimi, you clearly have a problem if you have such contention with my remarks. I take care of my health, which has nothing to do with my looks and width. What pisses me off is that my insurance premiums and taxes rise b/c of you people and your triple-bypasses.
Learn to take care of yourself and your diet, b/c we’re sick of paying for your kind.
i believe they prefer to be called “little people” jk
What about dwarf or elf?
I had some a couple days ago. Very good! Great in fact. And they come in this cute little round flying saucer container.
I had them yesterday… bleagh. Not very good–but I had unrealistic expectations. Here’s a breakdown of what they actually are: round rolls made from the dough for their sirloin burgers, an entire sirloin patty for their sirloin burgers cut into quarters (they use 3 square quarters, who knows what happens to the last piece), cooked white onions, a quarter of american cheese and a splotch of ketchup. They aren’t a new product, just a rehash of an old one to draw customers.
dammit, i hope these are not super cheap. i work there and it would suck to make like 10 of these every other order. they do look good though. jack has some awesome food.
They are 3.99 for the 3 mini burgers. Pretty darn good too, we had them for lunch in Escondido, Ca.
Tried some in Escondido this week! They were delicious! Went back to Jack this week to let my hubbie try it…only to find out they don’t have it out here yet! Darn!
I thought they looked good, too, but they totally suck. These are the least juicy burgers you will ever eat.
That and they’re a total ripoff at $3.99 for three (burgers only, not a combo).
On a scale of 1-10, I’d give them a 2.
