Mimi's new bar area. Walk-ins welcome
Mimi’s Cafe — home of giant muffins and comfort foods — is adding bars in Southern California to boost sales. So far, two Orange County eateries have built bars and revamped decor, including a newly remodeled Mimi’s Cafe in Irvine.
The makeover and full-service bars are being rolled out first in Southern California, according to the Tustin-based casual dining chain. Other revamped Mimi’s restaurants are in Laguna Niguel and San Bernardino.
The new bars are open for “walk-in” diners looking for cocktails and appetizers. The Tustin-based chain is also debuting new drinks for diners, including the Mimitini. (shown)
Does this mean Mimi’s will have a Happy Hour?

Mimitini
A “cocktail hour” is being tested in Laguna Niguel, as well as locations in Ohio and Texas, chain reps told me. The cocktail hour program runs form 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. to close. It includes Hors d’oeuvres starting at $2.99, $2 off wine and cocktails and $1 off beer.
The Irvine location opened its bar on Thursday. It is at 4030 Barranca Parkway. The Laguna Niguel Mimi’s Cafe is at 27430 La Paz Road. (Mimi’s locations)

Mimi’s sucks. A friend of mine found a cigarette butt in her food. Never again!!!
I always LOVE happy hours, so the more bars have more happy hours, then I’ll be more happy and drink alot of beer!!!!!…..long life to happy hours..:)>
I had the pleasure of opening Mimi’s first Las Vegas location. After working with Chef Felix and his crew of traveling chefs who train the new hires, I will NEVER eat in one of their restaurants again.
I wont go into detail, but let just say personal hygiene and food safety standards are way below anything I have ever seen.
I don’t know what it is about mimi’s, but I just never want to go there! Not a bad place but not really great either. Can’t put my finger on it! It’s just missing something!
Mimi’s went downhill once Bob Evans of Ohio bought them out several years ago. I stopped going to the Mimi’s in Orange. The Midwesterners from Bob Evans just shouldn’t have tried to do SoCal style dining.
