Costa Mesa-based El Pollo Loco has given Orange County Rescue Mission food vouchers to help aid victims of last weekend’s fires in Orange County.
The chain is giving $2,000 in coupons. Certificates are good for an 8-piece chicken meal that include two large sides, tortillas and salsa, said spokeswoman Julie Weeks.
El Pollo Loco challenge: Weeks said El Pollo Loco is challenging other restaurant companies to do the same, as the rescue mission is running low on food vouchers to help fire victims. Specifically, donations can be made to Operation OC, a special division created by OCRM to handle donations to assist fire victims and evacuees.
The agency is looking for gas vouchers, meal vouchers, grocery certificates, food boxes, health care services and other assistance.
