Tomorrow’s final $1.99 Togo’s sandwich is a good one: the No. 9 – Pastrami.
Togo’s does not plan on offering any more value deals at this time, I’m told. So, take advantage.
Tell us: Will you continue to go to Togo’s now that the Wednesday deal is over?
Write in and explain your answer.

Probably won’t go back but the turkey avocado sure was good. Tough to beat the $5 Subway deal, Togo’s should offer something similar.
I will continue to eat at Togo’s but no more than 2-3 times per year…………I’ve been ejoying the Quizno’s $5 foot long……….Tuna with swiss cheese…………tomorrow will be my 6th trip to Togo’s for their $1.99 6″…………I love taking advantage of a good deal!
Yes, I love the turkey and ham sandwich. I didn’t know the pastrami was really good, better than subway’s.
I will also not go back to Togo’s since their sandwiches are expensive. The $1.99 special was a good deal, and was good for the cause, however, with most other places offering great deals those places will win my business. I hope Togo’s jumps back into offering a special/deal like Subway/Quizno’s. I used to never go to Subway but with their $5 footlong it’s a lot of food for a small price, and these days quantity wins over quality…for now…. Nancy, I hope you relay our comments that some of us aren’t going back unless they bring back the deal or something similar to Quiznos or Subway….
Thanks for your updates on the $1.99 special.
I will not go back…..the people at the store have had bad attitudes the 2 times I went there for specials. They seemed VERY ANNOYED when you order the $1.99 sandwich.
TOGO’s sandwiches are good quality, but $5 is way too expensive. I will wait for their next “deal”, so please keep us posted!
Won’t be going back unless they decide to create an ongoing value menu. Togo’s is easily the most expensive sandwich chain, and their quality over the last few years has diminished to the point of almost being eclipsed by Quizno’s, who’s quality is basically shite.
the food sucks, the workers suck, i hope no one ever steps foot in a togos again
Everyone complaining about the prices at Togo’s needs to chill out at least a little.
So, nobody’s going back because they can get a 5 dollar footlong at Subway?
The majority of sandwiches offered at Subway are NOT part of the 5 dollar footlong deal. Most of their footlong sandwiches are in the 6.50 to 7.50 range, which is right in line with Togos. Quizno’s is the same case; let me know when you can go in there and without a coupon regularly order a steak sandwich for 5 bucks.
Get real.
Togos is a great alternative to Subway, Quizno’s or the many mom and pop deli’s out there making great food. The 1.99 was a crazy deal, and I took advantage of it like many others. Simple rationale tells us that they need to charge more than that for a sandwich, otherwise they’re going under.
I guess I’m surprised that everyone hear isn’t complaining that Subway isn’t offering a 1.99 small sandwich?
Thanks Togo’s for the deal while it lasted.
I probably would not go back to TOGO’s, I had my $1.99 sub a few weeks ago and it was pretty good. Right now the way the economy is going wouldn’t pay more than $2 for a sub.
Meh. I never went to Togo’s for a value meal. That’s what Subway was for. So if I feel the need to splurge for something I consider a little more fancy than Subway, I will still head to Togo’s, or Quiznos even.
Was just there at the location in San Diego, and the special was the ham and cheese, not the pastrami.
I was devastated =/
Nope, probably won’t be back unless they do the $1.99 deal again. Too expensive.
Nope…not going back…they are toooooo expensive…..BUT I must say the deal was great and I went almost every week…..
I think Togo’s should jump on the band wagon for deals..everyone else is!!!
I agree, their prices do seem too high for my budget but the quality and amount of meat appears to better than my experiences with both Quizno’s and Subway.
The Togo’s in La Habra on Imperial Hwy has after 4pm $2.99 specials on regular size sandwiches: Monday (Meatball), Wednesday (Sicilian Chicken) and Friday (French Dip).
Not quite as good of a deal as $1.99 but still a good value for the money.
Went today for the Pastrami…………I noticed the regular price is $4.79 for the small pastrami……….no way would I spend that much for a 6″ sub on a regular basis………..$3.29 is about max!
I agree with Eric. While I really enjoy Togo’s, $4.79 for a 6-inch sub is just too much.
I consider Togo’s more of a splurge than an everyday option. I’ll continue to eat there occasionally, but I’d happily stop by more often if their prices were more in line with today’s economy. It doesn’t have to be a $1.99 loss leader, but the company needs to remember its primary competitors are Subway and Quizno’s. While neither is giving away subs, they’ve both managed to cultivate this perception of value. And it’s serving them well as the economy slides into recession.
It’s $1.99 experiment notwithstanding, Togo’s has missed the boat where perceived value is concerned. Let’s hope it’s not too late.
I will not go back to Togo’s unless I have a coupon for a good deal. I only went for the $1.99 sub. I agree with FVmommieof2, they seemed VERY ANNOYED when I ordered the $1.99 sub and I only ordered one. I’ve never found a good deal at togo’s.
Alot of people talk about how expensive Togo’s is…but think about what you get for your money.
I always looked at it like, it is $5 for a 6″ BUT it’s definitely more filling.
Subway is cheap because it’s low quality.
You get exactly what you pay for there.
It’s like the 99 cent store of sandwich places…if you bought a pan at the 99 cent store, you might think it’s a great deal but really it’s because it’s crap.
The only thing “Fresh” you’ll get at subway is the air.
Togo’s is so much better.
Subway and Quizno’s are the type of sandwiches I can make at home.
So you pay $ 4.80 for a jam packed 6″ sub at Togo’s but it’s worth it.
I don’t think Togo’s can make their stuff cheaper…it’s a known fact when something is of good material it costs more!
Oh how i’ll miss the $1.99 sandwiches but i’ll still go back.
$1.99 was really a great deal. I will def be back.
I don’t think you should judge that employee’s were “annoyed” because you ordered a cheap sandwich, it’s not like they make commission. Bad attitudes happen everywhere in the restaurant biz.
It may be smaller than a sandwich at Subway or Quizno’s but the items used to make the sandwich are more filling.
If you go to Subway you might as well make a sandwich from home.
Think about it…why IS subway cheap?
You get what you pay for people..
Mmmm togos…so much better
I went to the Togo’s at Katella and State College for all but one of their weekly specials. I would typically get there between 5 and 6:30 p.m. For those who have been in the retail food business, you know this is a rush time. Every time I went, the only bread choices were white and wheat. Doesn’t it seem logical that, if you’re trying to increase foot traffic with a special, that you would have a complete offering of bread choices?
I finally got so frustrated that I called Togo’s HQ to complain. This was on Tuesday, before the final Wednesday of the special. They were very attentive to my complaint, though not apologetic. The perception the person on the phone created was that they will go headhunting, not that they were concerned about keeping the customer happy. Clearly, that turned out to be the case because on Wednesday the bread choices were……white and wheat. No wonder they are behind Subway and Quizno’s.
Well Steve,
As you know in the restaurant business that kinda stuff happens.
Try a different Togo’s.
That’s a scary thought Marie…that a restaurant would go 6 consecutive weeks with only 1/3 of their menu options available at a rush time and that a call to customer service yielded no results. I’m hard pressed to imagine that McDonald’s would only have plain burgers, cheeseburgers, and Coke available during rush times.
Unfortunately, the special has ended so no use in trying another Togo’s. After that experience it would probably cost me the $1.99 in gasoline to find out nothing has changed.
Well it’s not so much scary as it is common to most restaurants
I guess that’s how popular Togo’s is…people like their bread!
I’ve gone to Panera Bread 3 times and the sandwich mix they made had run out all three times.
Did you speak to the Manager?
McDonalds has their meat stored up in their freezers by the dozen so I’m sure they wouldn’t run out.
Oh well!
