Wednesday’s $1.99 sandwich at Togo’s is a repeat of one sold earlier this year: the No. 24 Turkey and Avocado.
I’m in heaven. I had hoped for a repeat of this sandwich. Still, what about tuna? This is one of the chain’s most popular cold sandwiches, according to some employees. Why hasn’t tuna been offered up on Wednesdays?
Anyway — be prepared to go through Wednesday sandwich withdrawals. Togo’s said next Wednesday, Nov. 19, will be the last day for its $1.99 special.
Remember: with every purchase of a $1.99 sandwich (Limit two, per person) Togo’s will donate money to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Make sure to return to the Maven next week for details on next week’s sandwich.

next week’s sandwich is pastrami again according to this:
http://www.yelp.com/topic/long-beach-togos-1-99-sale
that’s the list i’ve been using the past 5 weeks, the tuna on october 29th was the only one that turned out to be different…
yuck…
Last week you said it was the meatball and at the Togos in Fullerton I visited it was chicken salad. I went at 11:30 too and they said they hadn’t heard of the meatball sandwich being the chosen one
Bummer.
October 29th was Turkey and cranberry for me………
As a type I, juvenile diabetic this promo was disappointing.
I love the turkey and avo sammy. I just don’t understand why they had such a short promo.
At my Togo’s (Lake Forest and Trabuco Rd) there was never any signage about the Wednesday deal whatsoever. I knew of it from the writer of this blog. Why did Togos even do a charity tie-in — without promoting it??? What a wasted opportunity for juvenile diabetes.
This is the one I’ve been waiting. Too bad I brought my lunch, but I know what I’m having for dinner!!
That’s too bad, LeeLee. I know the one in Orange where I go has the brown, $1.99 sign…
I missed going at lunch today, but plan to trek over there around 2pm
I will be heading over to Togo’s also to get the Turkey and Avocado this evening. Good choice today! The Togo’s I have been to (Orange and Irvine) have a sign on the door about the Wednesday Special.
I hope in some fashion they continue this Wednesday Special and maybe add in other causes to donate. I think it’s a great idea! The price and “cause” got me to go back to Togo’s. I used to go when they first opened up in the late 80’s.
Thanks for the update Nancy.
LeeLee is wrong - Lake Forest & Trabuco does have a sign
Went for my turkey avocado tonight and I was the only person at the store in Laguna Niguel. It was late though. Nothing beats this sandwich, it was impeccable. I hope they extend this offer. Thanks Nancy
The San Bernardino Togo’s never had a sign, and when we went on November 12, they said they had decided to withdraw from the deal and were not offering the sandwiches anymore.
