Charo Chicken testing new flavors, adds online ordering

October 29th, 2008, 3:12 am · 5 Comments · posted by Nancy Luna, Staff Writer

Charo Chicken recently revamped its website to include online ordering.

The chain is also letting its customers pick its next new sauce flavor via an online contest. The flavors up for grabs: Chipotle BBQ, Teriyaki Citrus, Spicy Orange and Mango Pineapple.

At any point during the contest, customers can ask for samples of the sauces in stores.

Charo Chicken, whose biggest local rival is El Pollo Loco, is based in Huntington Beach. It has 22 units in California that offer food delivery.

Wasn’t Charro Chicken listed in the restaurant violation list a few months ago? Yikes

Love Charo Chicken but the prices are a bit high. They used to have a coupon for the Foothill Ranch location that got a 15 dollar meal deal that was well worth it. But for 20 bucks it seems kind of high….especially with El Pollo Loco having coupons regularly. Nice people at the Foothill Ranch location though.

The Foothill Ranch location is gone! They closed it down!! I think a “poultrygeist” scared them all away!! Cluck cluck cluck cluck cluck!!

Charro is very different from location to location…

Seal Beach is incredible, especially the soup!

Some locations around Irvine are good, and make an excellent burrito.

The one in Lake Forest is bla. The interior feels like a catalog order franchise, and the burritos are definately not as good, probably because they don’t brown the tortilla. I even asked this location about the sauces mentioned in this article, but they made fun of me saying that I must be thinking of another restaurant.

Good Chicken — Terrible Delivery Service

This was our first time ordering from this location in Seal Beach and it may be our last, except that we aren’t close enough to the other location for delivery.

We ordered 2 combo’s and got one and got sides for 2.. Our order was also missing a menu that we had requested. So we called them back and they tried to put us on hold for a long time and we called again and said that we wouldn’t wait on hold and they took our missing piieces of the order and attempted to redeliver. This time they did have the drinks, the 2 pieces of chickent that were missing, but still no menu. We asked for flour tortillia’s to be given for our trouble and they were not there either.
    Please get it right,.

    Sincerely,

    You Got It Wrong!
