Wendy’s has come up with a great alternative to handing out Halloween candy: a free Jr. Frosty for kids.
The burger chain is selling booklets that contain a coupon good for one free Frosty Jr., which is six ounces. Each booklet cost $1 and contains 10 coupons. (Note: see update below in comments. Some Wendy’s are selling coupons at 5 for $1)
What a fun, cheap treat — don’t you think?
Of course, I can imagine the look on some kids’ faces when you stuff a paper certificate in their trick or treat bag — especially the teenagers.
Still I think this is a nice alternative to candy. And for every booklet sold, Wendy’s donates money to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
Coupons may be redeemed Nov. 1 through Feb. 1, 2009.
I went to couple of Wendys and they said its only 5 coupons (not 10) for $1. Did they change their minds?
p-dubb: Not sure what they are talking about..If you look at the photo above, it clearly states 10 Jr. Frosty Coupons for $1. And, indeed , my booklet had 10 coupons in it…
FYI: Maybe there’s some confusement with corporate PR. I think I recall hearing it was 5 for $1, too..
Nancy: I just called another Wendys in Costa Mesa and the manager confirmed that it’s 5 coupons for $1. I told him i saw it for 10 coupons and he said that was 2 years ago.
So i guess it’s only 5 coupons. And in case anyone cares, it’s a 6oz Frosty.
What a great idea, 10 or 5 for a dollar is still a steal. I think I’ll buy a book for just myself.
Hmm. My Wendy’s must be selling old booklets, then….!! and yes, I thought I had that in there, but the Jr. Frosty is six ounces.
Nancy….which wendys did you go to? i’ll go there!
This is a great idea. Kudos to Wendy’s for finding a way to promote themself, offer the public a great deal AND donate to charity all with one piece of paper. I’m going to Wendy’s for lunch today as a result.
you can go to ebay and find them as well
