Fresh & Easy offering online coupons

Nov. 11: Fresh & Easy recently updated its site, and is currently offering a $6 off coupon. Click here for link to latest coupons.

Just spotted this cool link on the Fresh & Easy web site, promoting a $6 off coupon.

By now, fans of the nearly year-old British-based convenience store chain have grown used to receiving a $5 off coupon in the mail, or in stores. Friendly employees are always handing them out at the check out aisle.

Now, due to consumer demand,  Fresh & Easy is offering coupons online. This particular online coupon (below) is good through Oct. 19 on purchases of $30 or more.

Thanks Nancy, that’s a great deal!

Worth going with someone else, and getting $10 off $60 by splitting the order.

So, here’s another secret that my co-worker (the frugal Gadgetress) asked me to post…If you have more than one $5-off coupon, try scanning both to get $10 off. I’ve often been able to do this — with approval from employees!

I get tons of $5 off coupons at our apartment, most the people here throw them away!

So, reader X from South County, reached out to me with this interesting observation on the new F&E $6 coupons…
    “Two personal impacts:
    1) It is going to change the frequency with which I shop there. Even with gas dropping, I will definitely make fewer 6-mile round trips. I average 2-3 times a week now, usually bundling the stop with others I need to make in the Laguna Hills area, but I often make it a destination. That will likely drop to a once a week stop so where they were netting from me a minimum of $30-45 per week from me, next week they will average about $24-25.

    2) I know a lot of people don’t like the short expirations of their code dates, but I REALLY like that about them, I respond to the freshness of certain products and I have tended to buy bigger ticket items like meat, fruit, veggies and the prepared items in the cold-cases which generate bigger profits for them.

But starting next week I’ll be spending less money on those items since I’m only going to go once a week and face the tight code dates. Instead, I will shift to buying more of the cheaper, packaged stuff that has a longer shelf life and matches up favorably with same the products cost-wise that I can find in the big chains, peanut butter, salad dressings, jarred vegetables like olives and peppers, frozen items, dog food, etc. Basically, it means I will shop their loss leaders rather than their premium price points so not only will they be losing the volume of money, but also the bigger profit mark-ups.

Having said that, I hope they prosper and stick around, but I don’t intend to fund their success out of my wallet.”
