Looks like Tesco is playing hardball with its Fresh & Easy employees in Huntington Beach.
The British chain has rejected a request by employees who have asked to form a union.

unions suck. I agree with tesco.
So much for shopping at Fresh & Easy! Tesco management has a lot of nerve thinking it can come over here and treat Americans like garbage whilst coddling their British employees.
From the Guardian (UK) in June:
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has written to Tesco chief executive Sir Terry Leahy to urge the UK grocer to start talks with a US trade union over workers’ rights at its new California-based business.
In the letter, sent just ahead of the grocer’s annual shareholders’ meeting on Friday, Obama told the Tesco boss: “It is in your interest to ensure that the communities where you do business and the leaders of the workers in the industry are heard and that their concerns are heard and respected.”
I agree Unions do suck and I moved here from Canada to get away from their cancerous rot.
Good riddance to their ilk and I’ll be happily shopping in the NON-union Fresh & Easy!
