Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford gets burgerized by Burger KingI’m not sure I’d want my favorite movie character, Indiana Jones played by Harrison Ford, to wolf down this meal before tackling his latest adventure.

Burger King debuted this week the “Indy Double Whopper,” a huge, spicy animal of a burger. The limited-time item is tied to the much-anticipated debut of the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull film. The fourth installment of the Indiana Jones’ serial movies, starring Harrison Ford, debuts May 22. (If the Maven doesn’t post that day, you might catch her playing hooky in a movie theater.)

The new burger (at, right) contains two quarter-pound patties topped with two slices of melted pepper jack cheese, four slices of bacon, spicy Cajun mayo, tomatoes, lettuce and onions on a toasted sesame seed bun. Price: $4.29.

Burger King debuts Indiana Jones burgerSeems like eating this burger might slow down Indy as he tackled the bad guys. But, I guess the new Indy burger is meant to satisfy adventurous appetites.

Burger King is also promoting a scratch-and-win interactive game tied to the new Indy burger. To learn more, click here.

Got breakfast this morning at BK and they had a pretty neato Indiana Jones setup in the drive thru line. Almost took pictures. But they left the bacon off of my bacon croissan’wich. Just eggs and cheese.

Did you also notice that in “Iron Man,” when Tony Stark returns to American from captivity, the first thing he does is to get a burger from Burger King. Wonder how much Burger King paid for that product placement.
