Get ready for another cheap double-cheeseburger option.
Wendy’s International said today that it is rolling out a 99-cent double cheeseburger called The Stack Attack.
I have to say, I’m already troubled by the name. When I first saw the words “Stack Attack,” I thought they were introducing a new pancake breakfast. (Remember, morning grub is all the rage these days.)
Anyway, this 99-cent burger is being introduced to “broaden the way people think about value from Wendy’s,” stated Paul Kershisnik, Wendy’s senior vice president of marketing strategy and innovation.
“With the launch of the Stack Attack, we’re giving our customers more value and more choices at a time when gas prices remain high and they are facing financial pressures,” Kershisnik stated in a press release.
In other words, in this economic climate, consumers want cheap eats — even fast foodies. So, this is Wendy’s answer to that.
The Stack Attack joins a few other 99-cent double-cheese burger options. In November, Burger King introduced a $1 double-cheeseburger to rival one already sold at McDonald’s.
