Good eats are hard to find in the tourist-congested blinking light bonanza of Broadway.
We didn’t want to eat in the area, but we had just snagged last-minute tickets to a 7 p.m. show of Hairspray and didn’t have time to venture anywhere else in the late afternoon. We consulted our trusty Rough Guide travel book, which recommended Ruby Foo’s, a chic Pan-Asian restaurant featuring an eclectic mix of sushi, dim sum and stir fry specialties.
The best part: As soon as we walked in, the hostess offered my 7-year-old daughter a kids menu, which thankfully featured PB&J rolls served with potato chips. Score! (shown, right photo.)
I ate the wok seared sizzling filet mignon, while my husband dined on a dim sum variety plate.
Hands down, it was the best meal we had during the whole trip. Unfortunately this two-unit chain is only in Manhattan. But, our server told us a restaurant might open in Los Angeles.
If so, I’ll be sure to make a trip, as should you.
Thanks for reading along. And, if you have any fave eats to share from your travels, please tell us.
I’d love to hear about them.
